Wedding Photography Guides

45 wedding photography guides answer the real questions couples ask before booking in London: what a wedding photographer costs, whether a second shooter is worth it, and what happens if it rains on the day. Written from actual London weddings, not generic advice, each guide settles one decision so you can book with fewer surprises.

What’s in this category

Forty-five guides live under all photography and videography guides, and they answer the questions couples actually type into Google at eleven at night: what a wedding photographer costs in London, how long a realistic timeline runs, whether a second shooter earns its fee, and what happens to the day if October rain shows up on schedule.

I wrote most of these off real bookings rather than template answers, so a few go deep on one venue quirk, a curfew at a Hackney warehouse or low light inside a Victorian church, while others are broader, like the shot list guide couples forward to nervous parents.

If budget is the first question, wedding photography cost London breaks down real 2026 numbers by season and borough. Choosing between formats? photographer or videographer settles it without a sales pitch either way, and I’d argue plenty of small weddings do perfectly well without a videographer at all. Both point back to wedding photography from £950, with current 2026 prices covering everything else I run.

Send your date and venue through the contact page and I’ll confirm availability within one working day. If I’m booked, I’ll tell you who else in London is worth asking.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding photographer cost in London?

Wedding photography in London starts at £950, with the final figure depending on hours covered, number of locations and whether you add a second shooter. Wedding videography starts at £1,100 separately. I'll give an exact quote once I know your timeline and venue, usually within a working day of asking.

How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer?

Popular London Saturdays in spring and early autumn tend to book up ten to twelve months out, sometimes further for well-known venues. Weekday and winter weddings have more flexibility, occasionally as little as a few months. If you already have a date and venue, asking early costs nothing.

How long until we get the wedding photos?

Wedding photography galleries are delivered in four to six weeks, and wedding films in six to eight weeks. A handful of images usually go out sooner if you need something to post before the full set is ready, so just ask when you book.

Do we need a videographer as well as a photographer?

Not always. Photography alone covers most weddings well, and plenty of couples are perfectly happy without a film. If music, speeches or a first dance matter enough that you'll want to relive the sound of the day, videography from £1,100 is worth adding. It's a genuine either-or decision, not an automatic upsell.
