What to include in your enquiry
The more specific your first message, the faster you get a useful answer. A two-line message with no detail costs both of us a round trip of questions. Here’s what speeds things up:
- What you need photographed or filmed. A wedding, a headshot session, a product range, a flat for sale. See the full list of services if you are unsure.
- The date, or a rough window. “Second Saturday in September” is fine if you have not fixed a date yet.
- The postcode. It tells me how far I am travelling and roughly what the light and access will be like.
- Roughly how many people, products or rooms. This drives the quote more than the service type does.
- What the images are for. A website, a listing, a family album: it shapes how I shoot, not what I charge.
- Your budget, if you have one. Most advice says keep it to yourself so you do not get overcharged. I’d argue that is backwards for photography: naming a figure gets a sharper, faster answer, not a worse price.

What happens next
Once your enquiry lands, this is the sequence:
- I reply within one working day with either a price or two follow-up questions. Most jobs need one or the other, rarely both.
- If the job has moving parts, say a wedding with two venues, I suggest a short call rather than emailing back and forth for a week.
- You get a written quote setting out what is included and the delivery timeframe.
- A deposit holds the date. For weddings, that is usually the only way to lock a Saturday in peak season.

Studio and coverage area
The studio is in Shoreditch, EC2A, a few minutes’ walk from Old Street and Shoreditch High Street stations. It is on the first floor of a converted warehouse; there’s a lift, so kit and clients both get up without a fight with stairs.
I cover every London borough, from Bromley to Harrow, and add no travel charge inside the M25. Congestion charge and ULEZ are mine to absorb, not yours to itemise on an invoice. Outside the M25, a wedding in the Cotswolds, a shoot in Brighton, travel is quoted separately, worked out from the postcode you give me.

Response times and availability
One working day, always. Enquiries sent on a Friday evening get a reply by Monday close, not left over the weekend.
Availability varies a lot by service. Weddings book out closest to a year ahead for popular Saturdays in June and September, so ask early if you already have a date. Headshots and small events usually need a fortnight’s notice, sometimes less. Property photography is often the most flexible; same-week bookings happen fairly often, particularly when a listing is going live soon and the agent is chasing images.
Send across what you need shot, your rough date and your postcode, and expect a price or two questions back within one working day. Flag it as urgent in the first line and I’ll treat it as one.
