One studio, photo and film

I run photography and video from one booking, one brief and one visit. Need both for a wedding, a product launch or a corporate event? You are not managing two suppliers who have never worked together and do not know each other’s timing — you get one person who already knows where the light falls in the room and where the second person needs to stay out of frame.

That matters most on tight schedules. A launch with a 6pm start and a 9pm venue curfew doesn’t leave room for a stills photographer and a videographer working from separate briefs, discovering mid-shoot that they both want the same five minutes with the founder. One brief means one running order, agreed once, covering both.

It also means one invoice and one point of contact if a delivery date slips. If you have booked a photographer and videographer separately before and spent the following week chasing two people for two sets of files, that is the problem this solves. I’d rather lose the odd job to someone cheaper than pretend two freelancers texting each other mid-shoot is the same as one person running both.

What I shoot

Photography and video between them cover most of what people book a camera for in London: weddings, events, corporate work, property, product, portraits, and more specific briefs like fashion, drone and podcasts. Most photography London searches turn up either a stills specialist or a video specialist, not one person doing both to the same standard. That’s the gap I fill: comfortable with a 24-70 for events and a 70-200 for weddings, holding a CAA Operational Authorisation for drone work, and editing the film side myself rather than outsourcing it. What it costs

Photography starts at £150 for a headshot and £180 for property; events start at £350, weddings at £950. Video runs from £350, roughly the same starting band as the photography equivalent, since the editing time is comparable even though the finished product looks completely different.

I don’t build package tiers labelled silver, gold and platinum with add-ons buried inside each one. How it works

The process is the same shape whether you are booking a £150 headshot or a £950 wedding day, just longer at the top end.

1. Enquiry: tell me the date, the brief and roughly what you need
2. Quote sent back within one working day, with a clear from-price and what moves it
3. Deposit to hold the date once you confirm
4. The shoot itself, on the day agreed
5. Delivery: property in 24 hours, events and headshots in 48, product in three to five working days, weddings in four to six weeks and wedding films in six to eight

I don’t ask for a large deposit to lock in a date. Some studios take fifty percent upfront on everything; I’d argue that protects the business more than the client, and a smaller deposit does the same job of confirming that you are serious. Areas I cover

I’m based in Shoreditch, EC2A, and shoot across every London borough, not only the postcodes near the studio. East London, meaning Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham, is where most of my work happens simply because it is closest. Central London jobs mean navigating loading restrictions that change street by street in the City. West London covers everywhere from Kensington to Hounslow; South London runs from Peckham down to Croydon; North London stretches from Islington up to Enfield.

There’s no travel charge inside the M25, and the Congestion Charge and ULEZ are already priced into the figures above rather than added afterwards. Why book me rather than a studio

A one-person operation means you get the person you spoke to on the phone, not whoever’s rota happens to be free that week. I plan your shoot knowing what happened at the last one and what is coming at the next, rather than handing a brief sheet to a shooter who has never met you.

It also means real limits. I can’t be in two places on the same Saturday, so if you need four events covered on one date, I cannot take all four, and I will tell you that upfront rather than overpromise and let you down later. For that kind of volume, a studio with a roster of shooters is the right tool, not me.

I’d argue a bigger studio solves a problem most clients do not actually have. You are paying for structure and spare capacity, not necessarily better photographs, and for a single wedding or a one-off shoot that trade-off rarely pays for itself.
